چکیده
Japanese beetle, Popillia japonica (Newman), was first detected in the United States New Jersey 1916. The beetle gradually spread to Midwest U.S. region, and confirmed Minnesota late 1960’s. has subsequently become a major invasive insect pest turfgrass several agricultural crops. As P. continues throughout U.S., other countries, it is important develop efficient ways monitor adult populations, where possible, forecast phenology of population dynamics. During 2019-2021, field trials were conducted degree-day model that can be used under Minnesota, summer climatic conditions in. We commercially available traps lures flight phenology, specifically trap-catch, along with weather data at four locations relate ambient temperatures phenology. concordance correlation coefficient ( CCC ), an index both precision accuracy, final model. Model development included evaluation simple sine-wave calculation methods, start dates between 1 Jan. April, range lower (0-15 °C) upper (20-37 thresholds. optimum found calculation, using biofix date Jan, thresholds 15 21.7 °C, respectively, for predicting 10% trap-catch. will aid future integrated management (IPM) regulatory strategies by providing tool prediction

Physiological status of male and female Popillia japonica (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) affects mating and grouping behavior.
Because mating may be costly, sexually active males or females are predicted to be in relatively good physiological condition and may preferentially direct their mating behavior toward relatively high-quality mates. We tested this hypothesis in Japanese beetles (Popillia japonica Newman), a pest species in which males and females may be either isolated or in aggregations while feeding on host p...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Temporal Resource Partitioning and Interspecific Correlations in a Warm, Temperate Climate Assemblage of Dung Beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae)
Guilds of dung dwelling and tunneling dung beetles coexist in local assemblages in warm temperate regions, despite the tendency of dwellers to be inferior competitors. A field experiment on the Black Sea coast of Turkey examined the role of temporal resource partitioning in their coexistence. Standardized dung pads deposited at 4 h intervals through a 24 h period in summer were collected 12, 24...
متن کاملRevision of the genus Stictospora and description of Stictospora villani, n. sp. (Apicomplexa: Eugregarinida: Actinocephalidae) from larvae of the Japanese beetle, Popillia japonica (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae), in Michigan.
Stictospora villani n. sp. is described from larvae of the Japanese beetle Popillia japonica (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) from southern Michigan. Stictospora villani is distinguished from known species of the genus by differences in gamont size and by structural details of the epimerite. In general, S. villani is smaller than other known species of the genus and possesses an epimerite with a marg...
متن کاملApplication of a New Hybrid Method for Day-Ahead Energy Price Forecasting in Iranian Electricity Market
Abstract- In a typical competitive electricity market, a large number of short-term and long-term contracts are set on basis of energy price by an Independent System Operator (ISO). Under such circumstances, accurate electricity price forecasting can play a significant role in improving the more reasonable bidding strategies adopted by the electricity market participants. So, they cannot only r...
